Our private day at Gallipoli was exceptionable, especially our visit to Bigali and to the house where Attaturk was based. It was very special to do that and travel to extra sites beyond the standard ones and meet some of the local people. I would highly recommend that, especially to people who have a link to the area from the First World War.
The food alert card you emailed me was very helpful and I must say I appreciated the efforts every venue made to accommodate my need for gluten free food. I had much more difficulty in Prague than anywhere in Turkey.
We also loved Cannakkle, a very vibrant place especially along the shoreline. The seafood restaurant recommended by the guide was very good, beautiful food at a good price.
We loved Assos and did the walk to the ruins on the Acropolis despite our age!
Troy and Pergammon were brought to life by the enthusiasm of our two guides at each place.
Unfortunately I was unwell at the end of our tour and was not even able to tour Pammukkale. Jon enjoyed it all while I sat in the shade.
The hotel in Marmaris was ideal, quiet, peaceful, beautifully appointed and the family who ran it so nice and kind.
Every place we stayed was special and every site likewise. I am just sorry I got sick as it affected my enjoyment of my last days in Turkey and my first day on Rhodes.
Thank you for all your help over the months it took to organise our itinerary. You have good connections in Turkey. I couldn't thank them enough.
